Profile
Kim Mawer studied Japanese studies, education, and sociology at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. As a JASSO scholarship recipient, she became interested in out-of-school supplementary education during her exchange year at Osaka Kyoiku University. This interest led her to pursue her PhD in education at the Graduate School of Human Sciences at Osaka University. From 2016 to 2021, she has been working at Osaka University’s Center for Global Initiatives before joining the All-English Undergraduate Program at HUS.
Research Interests
My research interests include shadow education, privatization and marketization in education, history of educational thought, higher education internationalization, educational migration, multicultural education, and comparative education.
