HUS IUDP Alumni Trajectories: Desirable Workforce in Global Markets
HUS IUDP graduates successfully compete at the global level for spots at prestigious graduate schools and positions in international organizations and the corporate sector. Two-thirds of our talent continue their education at the graduate level, whereas one-third pursue careers in public service and corporations as analysts and consultants. Many of our alumni regularly give back by participating in HUS faculty, administrative, and student activities.

Nothing ahead was clear even after moving into the dormitory. I joined the IUDP program with a vague interest in Human Sciences and a vague interest of becoming a social studies teacher. But the program gradually cultivated within me a sense of awareness toward the outside world.

Hi, I’m Nam and I’m a student of the 2017 cohort. At the moment of this writing, I am enrolled in the Master Program of Kyosei Studies at Human Sciences Department, Osaka University. From October 2021 to September 2022, I was a Master of Science (MSc) in Sociology student at the University of Oxford. In the spring and summer of 2022, I was accepted as a PhD student to both the University of Tokyo’s Graduate Program on Global Society for Area Studies major, and the Research Group on Gender Inequalities and Fertility of Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR).

Although I was initially interested in studying sociology and anthropology, after my three years at the Human Sciences International Undergraduate Degree Program (HUS) at Osaka University and my exchange year abroad at UC Berkeley, I found my true passion towards public policy.
